FOOT PAPERWEIGHT

DESIGN: WERKSTATTE CARL AUBÖCK VIENNA 1950

Originally designed in the 1950s by Bauhaus student Carl Auböck II (1900–1957), these polished paperweights are made from original casts and carry the Werkstätte Carl Auböck stamp on them. Carl Auböck lV continues this extraordinary design legacy in the same Viennese workshop that Carl Auböck the first started in the late 19^th Century. This fourth-generation Viennese workshop of Carl Auböck combines traditional craftsmanship with modern design. These solid brass objects were a favorite of Bauhaus founder and architect Walter Gropius, who kept them on his desk along with several other Auböck-designed objects.

Please note: Aubock pieces are made by hand, each one will differ slightly. Imperfections such as small scratches and/or minor nicks on the surface of this item are evidence of the handmade production process and should not be considered defects.
