After immigrating to the US from Germany in 1935, chemist and inventor Peter Schlumbohm created the famous Chemex coffeemaker, inspired by the Bauhaus school of design and informed by laboratory equipment such as the Erlenmeyer flask. His kitchenware epitomizes the kitchen–as–laboratory, a hallmark of the inter-war New Kitchen. Available in 6-cup and 8-cup.
